For many people born since 1948, the existence of the United Nations is taken for granted. Indeed, since the many wars and troubles of the end of the 20th Century and beginning of the 21st Century, the UN has received unprecedented criticism for seemingly failing to play a more leading role in preventing mass genocide and disease.

In fact, the United Nations has continued to claim it makes a primary and essential contribution in all aspects of seeking to resolve disputes peacefully as well as try gain stronger financial support for programs to combat global epidemics such as AIDS, Hepatitis and Malaria. In reality, the United Nations has caused greater misery, miustrust through poorly executed programmes, corrupt food aid systems that have allowed much of the aid to be siphoned off for military weapons and a general disregard for real lasting self-determination.
The future of the world no longer depends on the future of the United Nations
Whatever you may feel presently about the United Nations, there is no question that the United Nations has had long enough to reform, with no indication the body has either the will nor the capacity to change. No other body has ever represented so many individual nations and yet been a greater disappointment. No other body has held out so much hope for a better future and failed.
It cannot be understated, that if the United Nations is allowed to continue, the world will quite simply fail and return to the very darkest of behaviours and war.
Therefore, every effort must be made to ensure that the United Nations not only is replaced by a relevantand functional body to the pressing needs of the world, but ceases to remain the forefront as the single representative body for the human race.
